As a child, my parents instilled in me to always go above and beyond the expectations laid out before me. This advice provided the foundation that guided my work ethic throughout my educational and career growth. It continues to have a critical impact on the choices I make and the challenges I accept to continually grow in all ways always.
My passion for operational excellence and inclusion began while completing my bachelor's degree in St. Louis, Missouri. I studied operational efficiency and inclusive practices' impact on organizational culture and performance. After completing my education, my professional journey has consistently focused on these twin pillars of organizational success.
In 2010, my focused journey in the utility sector began as vice president of operations and board member for a California-based regulated water utility. Under my leadership and through innovative approaches, I significantly increased operational effectiveness while also improving spend with diverse suppliers. By 2017, the company expanded its focus to workforce diversity, which I led for California operations. In 2020, I joined the board as the inclusion and diversity officer based on my engagement and results. The company's workforce engagement, operational efficiency, and inclusion of diverse suppliers increased significantly—a testament to the impact of integrated excellence.
Having seen the transformative results of this integrated approach, I founded EA Simon Company to bring these proven strategies to more organizations in the utility sector and beyond.
